Northern Beaches Asthma & Anaphylaxis Courses

COURSE INTRODUCTION

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty, the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance and provide advance training in the use of adrenaline auto injectors for the treatment of anaphylaxis and the advance treatments associated with asthma.


COURSE PARTICULARS

This course is delivered and assessed on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909

This course is a skill set combination course designed for child care workers containing the following units:

  • 22282VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace, and
  • 22300VIC Course in first aid management of anaphylaxis

Target Audience

Childcare workers and anyone seeking to learn asthma and anaphylaxis first aid emergency response for adults and children.

Course Duration

Mixed Mode: Online Registration plus 3.0 hours practical training.

PLEASE NOTE: Course duration is reflective of group sizes of between 4 and 15 participants. If there are less students in a group, you may find course duration reduced by a maximum of 10. If a class size exceeds 15 participants it may therefore also be necessary to increase course duration depending on the number of participants.

Pre-course Study Requirements

If there is pre-course study for the course, it is found in the student portal. Students must have access to a computer, phone, tablet etc. with access to the internet to complete the pre-course study online.

Payment Terms and Course Fees

Payment terms – Payment is upfront for all students wishing to enrol in a publicly listed first aid course. Group and private booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and service provider.

Course Entry Requirements

There are no prerequisite, entry, work-placement, licensing or certification requirements for this course.

Please note that enrolment to this course is made with Allens training Pty Ltd RTO 90909. Please refer to the student handbook available on the RTO website for all details relating to rights and responsibilities of students, including complaints and appeals

Assessment Requirements

Students undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. For specific assessment requirements, please refer to the those listed on the Allens Training website for this course.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS : Please ensure that your chosen course date(s) and times are correct at the time of booking.  Beaches First Aid does not provide refunds to clients who cancel their booking less than 24 hours prior to any registered course start time. Where notification is given 24 hours or more prior to course commencement time, an alternative course date will be discussed and agreed upon with Beaches First Aid. A $40 administration fee (payable prior to the commencement of an alternative course date) will be applied to any client wishing to change their course date after a booking has been finalised, regardless of the time of notification given to Beaches First Aid. Beaches First Aid endeavours to fulfill every course date listed.  However, in the event that a course has not met the  minimum number (five) of participants, the course may be cancelled. Beaches First Aid attempts to provide 24 hours notice to clients should the above situation occur. In the event that a course is cancelled, an alternative date will be organised or a full refund issued as per the client's preference.
